Should monks carry a rez in PvE?
So, I was doing Raisu Palace earlier today with my monk. I was running ZB prot monk with Gift of Health. I replaced my Rebirth with Celestial Skill. We all but 3 died, me (Monk), assassin and a wammo. None of us had rez, and then they started to call me a noob, because I didn't bring a rez.
You know the normal PuG complaint "omg noob"

I don't use too, especially when I play in GWEN. But in the early expansions I take rebirth, because everybody think a monk is a God, and he/she has to do everything. Heal everybody, when they die rez them, adn do always what they want.

Eh, I don't carry a res on a monk. H & H have their res sigs, which is more than a PuG tends to offer.

in NM, if you are good, you shouldn't have a rez.
in HM, taking a hardrez doesn't hurt, although placing this on other members rather than yourself is better. if there's no other solution, go for it.
for PUGs, i'd always go with one. lol

Monks should be the last resort when it comes to resurrections in PvE, but with a PUG, yes you should.

Never underestimate the gravitational pull of the wammo wearing 3 sup runes, using Frenzy and wearing some uninscribed non-max armor.

Res on monks is only required if the team is bad, and in that case its best to not play with that team anyway. Thats why i never take a res on my own monk.

while is best keep a ress on something who is not a monk i stopped losing time trying to convice the wammo(or everone else) to take a ress and just put one on my skillbar.
with only 7 skill you will do pretty well anyway. if you really need 8 there something wrong with your build

I never take rez anymore. It's just not worth it as a slot. If a team wipes like that and no one else has rezzes, then chances are the team will fail the mission anyways even if you rebirth all of them. Better to save time and find a new group/H&H.

In PvE when grouping/doing missions i always bring a hard rez, namely Rebirth because I stick to hero/hench and they can be stupid sometimes when just rezzed with some other rez and go off and die in a more difficuly place to get to. Having said that... in PvP (TA, HA, RA, HB, AB) I never bring a rez. The last 2 a rez is probably the most worthless skill you could bring but in the first 3 you these are so fast paced that you shouldn't be worried about bringing people back up just keeping them standing.

i always try not to...
but then they are like "monk, ping your build" and see that i have no rez, they are like NOOB PUT REZ ON! or kick me... and the ones that kick me, i usually see back in 5 minutes at the outpost GLF More'ing
its always annoying... but I just deal with it, as long as they don't tell me what to do and spam "heal me, now now now noooooww"

I don't pug, so I don't bring a rez skill ever. My heroes have rezzes (mix of sigs and hard rezzes), the henchies have rezzes, and if I'm playing with a hench monk rather than a hero monk, s/he'll have a hard rez too.
I should note that I also don't do HM, but even if I did, I probably still wouldn't bring a rez. Monk bars are tight enough as it is.

My monk is only lvl 19, but so far I haven't seen much need for it. Heros/Henchies carry enough sigs to get us through wherever we're going. For this reason, I usually don't bring rezzes on any chars of mine, unless I'm doing HM or something new (dungeons and stuff).

Last several PUGs I've been in, every Warrior in there was a Wa/Mo with [skill]Healing Breeze[/skill]. In a lot of PUGs, I've been faced with Wa/Mo's who fail to equip any good warrior skills, but also fail to use their heals as a monk would - they only heal themselves, and not very effectively at that.
I always carry a rez on my monks. I don't care how good I think I am, if something goes bad, I don't want to get stuck starting over. An old saying that applies well to how I do it is 'plan for everything but expect nothing.' Which is to say I don't go in expecting that I will need the rez, but I plan for it just in case. Not planning for the unexpected would be asking for trouble in my opinion.

Generally true. You can always spare a spot for a rez, so why not do so and be prepared. Preparation is not an admission of expecting failure. It's being ready in case of the unexpected.

Yep. Had one Wa/Mo last PUG I did, Venta Cemetery, that went the wrong direction from the mission, and kept going, then got very mad when she died and I wasn't thereto rez. I had just stopped at the split point and waited for her and the other's to return (half the group followed her).
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Image...metery_map.jpg
- On that map, at the flag at the top left of the screen, she went north-west into the corner rather than south-east along the yellow line.
Nearly every PUG, something like this happens. PUG before that one was on Prophesies monk in Sanctum Cay, and the other monk turned out to be a 55-er that got mobbed by the dinosaurs near the start and seemingly one-shot killed. In that case when I rez'd her after the fight something about he build killed her the moment she came to...

[skill]Rebirth[/skill] isn't that bad of an idea on the healing Monk in PuGs, you don't exactly need every slot, and PuG wammos have a tendency to attract lots of mobs with their gravity.

In pugs, I bring Rebirth, but I never really use it, since if the party wipes we wont win with a party rebirth rez. I guess I just have it as a habit...
When I hero/hench, I always bring rebirth. Many times the party will be fighting a mob, another mob or two aggros because of patrol overlap, I flag my heroes away, but one or two die. Most hero/hench dont have rebirth to rez them away from aggro, and the ones that do dont use it correctly. I end up using rebirth to get the party standing again.
